Whirl Olive Dish
Modern ceramic olive dish. Thrown by hand on the pottery wheel and made from porcelain clay, the piece was altered, sculpted and reconfigured into a unique new shape. Based on the golden spiral, the walls of the bowl wrap around dish and form a cup in the center. Perfect for serving olives around the perimeter with the center well to hold the pits.
The center circle is completely sealed and holds about 1/2 cup so the dish can also be used to serve smaller portions of your favorite snacks and dip. Also great for nuts and shells or shrimp cocktail. Use it, then display it as an art piece. Food safe, made from lead-free materials. The Whirl pictured is the Whirl you will receive.
Covered in a glossy clear glaze which allows the warm white color of the porcelain to show through. It measures approximately 8 1/2" in diameter x 2 1/4" high at its highest point. The center cup holds about 1/2 cup. Please note that due to monitor differences, colors may vary slightly.
I make each Whirl myself, completely by hand. I do not use molds or templates which means that each Whirl has its own unique characteristics. Though I have been asked, I do not mass produce the Whirls (or any of my work for that matter) through any outside manufacturers. I make each Whirl, bowl, vase, mug and sculpture myself in my private studio the in the U.S.
I will combine shipping on the purchase of multiple items shipping to the same address. Please contact me with your item choices and shipping info for a quote.
